Kent is a beautiful, historic and wonderfully diverse county, full of opportunity to the imaginative photographer. This creative landscape is driven by its unique environment, its people and the places to go. Kent boasts a stunning 178 mile coastline, picturesque countryside and vibrant urban centres. With a good sun record to boot!!! A Dream for photography.

Within short distances you can be transported from a dramatic coastal wilderness, to the North Downs, through marsh then woodland to dreamy rolling hills, there is something for all photographers.

A population of over 1.5m enjoy the county and drive its economy and its’ recreational facilities. A thriving arts scene has developed across the county. Impressive new projects in Folkestone and Margate provide a creative focus and venues from which to showcase work.

The diversity of places to visit draws many visitors to the county. An often turbulent history has left a rich source of monuments to gallant battles, many still living and working. By contrast, places of sublime tranquillity can be found easily from any point.

For me, the wild landscape and bitter winds make Dungeness a truly magical journey. The place is full of fishing boats, with old and new fisherman’s huts that make for stunning images. There’s a lighthouse, lifeboat station and steam railway too and the area is home to a wildlife reserve with thousands of birds and protected plants and flowers. I love the peace and space that I feel when I am there and the weather can be so dramatic ….. the windier the better!!!
