The Red Rose of England - Ashley Beolens - http://www.fatphotographer.net
If ever there was a nation suited to photography then surely England must rank amongst the best. There are locations to suit every type and style of photography, and to please each and every photographer.
The landscape photographer has nearly any type of vista available to them, from the bleak moors of Yorkshire, to the mountains of the peak district, wonderful heath lands of the south west coast to the famous white cliffs of Dover, wooded marvels of the new forest to beautiful beaches of the isles of Scilly. There is beauty, starkness, wonder and awe in equal measures around this wonderful country.
But it isn’t just the landscape photographer who is served well in England, the bustling cities of London, Manchester, London or Birmingham (as well as many, many more) offer some wonderful urban photography opportunities, be it interesting graffiti or interesting characters for street photography, or wonderful old and new architecture. Or visit some of the stunningly preserved older buildings of bath or the huge and varying amount of buildings from throughout the years dotted around the country.
Wildlife photographers will love the many nature reserves of wild places, we may not have the lions and tigers of this world, but the grey and common seals are just as ferocious and the Stag deer’s roaming the countryside are every bit as majestic as giraffes or Elephants. And few countries can offer the vast amount of birds that have turned up (well in Europe at least).
There are studios available to hire in most major towns so portrait photographers can always find a nice indoor area to practice their art, and wedding photography in the splendour of English churches is unsurpassed.
I can only hint at the locations available to photographers, but England should be on any photographers’ wish list of countries to visit at least once (although that will not be enough).
